Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co to open Perth CBD venue in July 2026

Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co, a popular brewery from Western Australia's Margaret River region, is expanding to Perth's central business district with a new venue at Brookfield Place. The brewpub will open on St Georges Terrace in July 2026, bringing South West hospitality to city workers. It aims to offer an escape with award-winning beers and elevated pub food.

Founded in 2012 as a brewpub in the Margaret River region, Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co has grown to include Caves Road Brewpub, Vasse Brewery & Taphouse, and Rockingham Taphouse, the latter acquired and transformed from the former Sound Brewing Co.

The new metropolitan venue at Brookfield Place on St Georges Terrace will feature a re-imagined interior and an expanded beer garden designed as a sanctuary from the business district's hustle. It will have 24 taps pouring the brewery's award-winning beers, alongside a food menu fusing elevated casual pub favourites with global flavours, providing a laid-back space for all-day and after-work visits.

Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co's managing director, Brent Burton, described the expansion as a major milestone. “It’s an incredible honour to partner with Brookfield Properties and join the world-class precinct at Brookfield Place. Creating a signature venue in the CBD is a major milestone for Cheeky Monkey, and one we’re extremely excited to unveil in July 2026,” Mr Burton said.

Director of operations Brendan Day emphasized staying true to the brand's roots. “We’re re-imagining the space to be entirely focused on high-quality hospitality without the ego or pretence,” Mr Day said. “Our vision is to bring the essence of the South West to St Georges Terrace — great beer, elevated pub food, and a welcoming place people want to spend time in.”

This opening follows other developments in the area, including Fremantle’s Little Creatures arriving at Elizabeth Quay in November 2025 and a new 10,000sqm workspace by Hub Australia at 125 St Georges Terrace. Brookfield Place recently bid farewell to Bar Lafayette after 13 years as a founding tenant.
