The University of Hartford men's and women's indoor track and field teams delivered strong performances at the Springfield Triangle Classic on Saturday. The women's team broke two school records, while both squads secured multiple top finishes. On February 21, 2026, the University of Hartford Hawks competed in the Springfield Triangle Classic, an indoor track and field meet hosted by Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The women's team achieved notable success, breaking two school records. Sophomore Tamara Greene set a new mark in the 60-meter hurdles with a first-place time of 9.06 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 9.08 seconds held by Cali Leonard. Junior Caroline Crocker placed second in the same event at 9.11 seconds. Senior Madison DiPasquale also broke a record in the shot put, throwing 13.04 meters for first place; this eclipsed the mark set by Diana Kornberg in the 2008-09 season. Other highlights included junior Jordan Murphy's first-place high jump of 1.63 meters, junior Leslie Samuel's second-place long jump of 5.16 meters, freshman Jaya Pichay's third-place 200-meter dash in 26.73 seconds, and senior Destinee Majett's third-place weight throw of 15.96 meters.
The men's team also performed well. Freshman Julius Lowe-Wannamaker finished fourth in the long jump with 6.49 meters. Sophomore Aidan Lybarger took third in the weight throw at 16.55 meters. Freshman Jason Edmund placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with 7.01 seconds. Senior Gulian Marconi earned third in the 800-meter run at 2:00.04.
Both teams are set to next compete in the NCAA Division III New England Championships in Boston from February 27 to March 1, 2026.
