The Ministry of Health requested the resignation of Fabián Barrientos Andrade on Saturday due to an ongoing investigation by the Public Ministry.
Fabián Barrientos Andrade left his post as Health Seremi in the Magallanes Region on Saturday. The Ministry of Health stated in a communiqué that the measure aims to safeguard the institution's operations and ensure the investigation proceeds with independence and transparency.
“This decision seeks to safeguard the proper functioning of the institution and guarantee that the development of the investigation is carried out with total independence and transparency,” MINSAL indicated. The ministry reiterated its commitment to probity and collaboration with the competent institutions.
With this departure, President José Antonio Kast's government has accumulated 25 regional ministerial secretaries who have left their posts since the start of the administration. The next Health Seremi for Magallanes will be announced in the coming hours.
