Penn State track and field secures medals on day one of Big Ten indoor championships

The men's 600 meters saw strong results, with Nebraska transfer Niko Schultz setting a meet record of 1:15.22, the third-best time in school history, followed by Allon Clay's personal best of 1:15.47 and Handal Roban's 1:15.96 for fourth. Kaleb Nastari placed ninth with 1:17.01. In the men's 200-meter prelims, sophomore Ajani Dwyer ran 20.51 seconds, breaking his No. 2 school time and qualifying second for Saturday's finals.

Charlotte Costich finished ninth in the women's 5,000 meters with 16:07.86. Nick Sloff earned six points for the men in the 5,000 meters, crossing fourth in 13:49.93 but moving to third after a disqualification. The women's distance medley relay team of Hayley Kitching, Alexandria North, Boh Ritchie, and Ada Rand took third in 10:57.52. The men's distance medley relay, featuring Yukichi Ishii, Matt DeMatteo, Luke Seymour, and Ryan Watson, placed fifth in 9:41.01.
