Miyamoto says gamers no longer prioritize console specs

Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto stated that consumers no longer focus primarily on hardware specifications when choosing consoles. He highlighted the company's approach of delivering unique gameplay experiences instead.

In an interview with Famitsu last week, Miyamoto noted that the original Nintendo Switch lasted eight to nine years. He said customers are no longer just looking for specs and described the ideal as allowing players to buy software and run it on the device they have at home.

Miyamoto pointed to Nintendo's advantage of working on a single architecture rather than multiple ones. He contrasted this with smartphones, which he said are everywhere but create development challenges due to varying performance levels and features.

The creator added that the company wants to make a living with minimal effort to support a more efficient production process. He stressed Nintendo's ongoing focus on gameplay that only it can create.
