Spring equinox market returns to Tinley Park brewery

The Spring Equinox Market, a plant and seed event, is set to return to Soundgrowler Brewing in Tinley Park on April 4. Organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance, the free family-friendly gathering will feature around 50 vendors offering plants, seeds, art, and seasonal goods. Vendor applications remain open until March 20.

The Spring Equinox Market: A Plant and Seed Event will take place at Soundgrowler Brewing in Tinley Park on Saturday, April 4, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. This year's edition builds on previous markets with an expanded focus, as noted by curator John Streetz, who described a slight rebrand to include seeds, propagation tools, spring equinox-themed art, and plant-inspired goods alongside live plants.

Approximately 50 artists and vendors are expected, with about half inside the brewery and the rest on the outdoor patio. In case of bad weather, all will move indoors. The lineup includes plant vendors selling houseplants, seedlings, seeds, and gardening supplies, plus makers offering plant-themed artwork, décor, and handmade items. Complementary vendors will provide honey, woodworking, baked goods, coffee, tarot readings, and other creations.

Organizers have responded to past feedback by adding more plant-focused sellers, after several sold out last year. Popular vendors are returning, joined by new growers and specialists. The patio is pet-friendly, while the indoor taproom allows only service animals.

Soundgrowler Brewing will offer its full range of craft beers, non-alcoholic options, seltzers, and house root beer, with the kitchen serving tacos, burritos, and menu favorites. Visitors can also view works by March’s Artist of the Month, Rich Stachon, available for purchase.

This event highlights the partnership between Soundgrowler Brewing and the Streetz Artz Alliance, aimed at supporting local creatives and businesses. Vendors, especially those with plants, seeds, or spring themes, can apply online by the March 20 deadline.
