Palworld achieved nearly one million concurrent players on Steam over the weekend, marking its second consecutive strong performance following its full release.
The game, developed by Pocketpair, reached this milestone after launching in full on PC and consoles on July 10. It placed second on Steam behind Counter-Strike 2, pushing Dota 2 to third place for the second weekend in a row.
Only three titles have ever exceeded two million concurrent players on the platform: PUBG, Black Myth: Wukong, and Palworld. Five others have surpassed one million, including Counter-Strike 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, Lost Ark, Dota 2, and Cyberpunk 2077.
Palworld entered early access in January 2024 and left it with the July full release. Prior to launch, it was often compared to Pokémon due to creature designs and mechanics. Nintendo filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Pocketpair in September 2024 targeting three specific patents.
