Pelita Jaya Jakarta continued its dominance in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) 2026 with a victory over Bogor Hornbills. The match, held at Gelanggang Mahasiswa Soemantri Brodjonegoro (GMSB) in Kuningan, Jakarta, ended 81-75. This marks the tenth consecutive win for coach David Singleton's team, which now has 20 points and tops the standings after week seven. Bogor Hornbills, third with an 8-2 record, mounted a strong challenge.
Coach David Singleton revealed that his team lost focus in the third quarter, allowing the opponents 30 points. "We had to change the playing intensity, that's the first thing we did, because we let the opponent score 30 points in the third quarter, which is something unreasonable for this team," Singleton said post-game, as quoted by ANTARA. He noted that the defense was not as tight as usual, but the players held on until the end. Singleton specifically praised Amorie Archibald and Jeff Withey for their efforts. "In particular, I want to appreciate Amorie Archibald and Jeff Withey, they fought and held on until the end to help the team," he added.
Guard Andakara Prastawa, named player of the game despite scoring only 14 points, emphasized maintaining rhythm. "We should have kept the same standard of play from the first quarter to the end, no ups and downs," he said. Andakara contributed with crucial three-point shots that gave his team the lead.
Statistically, Amorie Archibald impressed with 20 points, five rebounds, and six assists in 31 minutes and 16 seconds. Meanwhile, center Jeff Withey dominated with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists. Pelita Jaya's dominance so far confirms their status as the strongest team in IBL 2026 this season.
