Bank Jakarta has officially partnered with the basketball club Pelita Jaya for sponsorship in the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) season. The collaboration targets young generations and urban communities to strengthen branding and financial literacy. The launch event took place on February 12, 2026, in South Jakarta.
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, Bank Jakarta, a bank owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, launched a sponsorship partnership with Pelita Jaya at Gelanggang Mahasiswa Soemantri Brodjonegoro in Kuningan, South Jakarta. This collaboration follows previous support for Persija Jakarta and forms part of Bank Jakarta's digital transformation strategy to reach digitally savvy young communities.
Staf Khusus Gubernur DKI Jakarta for Youth and Sports, Dicky Budi Ramadhan, stated that the synergy goes beyond sports support to building city character and identity. "This collaboration is a tangible manifestation that Bank Jakarta must be present in every element of city development, including sports. The Governor of DKI Jakarta has great attention to the sports sector because sports can unite residents, build a spirit of togetherness, and strengthen Jakarta's identity as an advanced and competitive city," he said.
Bank Jakarta's Compliance Director, Ateng Rivai, emphasized the expansion of the bank's role in the sports ecosystem. "Bank Jakarta wants to continue to be closer to the public supporters of mass sports, who have high spirit, loyalty, and pride in their favorite club," he said. The support includes brand exposure on team attributes, branding activations at home games, digital content collaborations, and community engagement programs to enhance financial literacy.
Pelita Jaya President Andiko Ardi Purnomo welcomed the partnership as a step toward making Jakarta a global sports tourism city, especially ahead of its 500th anniversary next year. "We are optimistic that this collaboration will further strengthen the team's achievements and positive contributions to society," he stated. He targets a symbolic achievement by securing a fifth star for Pelita Jaya.
Bank Jakarta's Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that IBL 2026 serves as a platform to introduce innovative digital banking services to the youth segment. The event was attended by relevant officials, including Pelita Jaya Commissioner Aninditha Anestya Bakrie.
