Police were alerted around 8 p.m. on Monday to an address in the Brynäs district of Gävle after members of the public reported screams from a residence. Upon arrival, officers found two injured people at the scene, and an ambulance was called. The injured were taken to hospital, but their condition remains unclear.
One person was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. Police have not commented on whether the suspect has any prior connection to the injured individuals. According to sources for Aftonbladet, the two people were stabbed, though this is not confirmed in other reports.
The area around the residence was cordoned off pending the arrival of police forensics teams, and officers conducted door-to-door inquiries in the neighborhood to gather information. By 10 p.m., most of the police operation had been wound down.
“The public reported screams from a residence. When we arrive, we find two injured people,” said police spokesperson Stefan Larsson.
Police emphasize that the incident is considered isolated, with no additional suspects or danger to the public.
