The Georgia men's track and field team showed strong performances at the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston over the past weekend. These results are helping the Bulldogs prepare for next week's Arkansas Qualifier. The team demonstrated depth in field events and relays at Clemson, while focusing on distance runs in Boston.
The Georgia men's track and field team split its efforts between two key invitational meets last weekend, gaining valuable experience ahead of the postseason. Most athletes traveled to Clemson University for the Tiger Paw Invite, where they competed in a range of events and secured several top finishes.
In the high jump, junior Kimani Jack claimed first place by tying his personal best of 2.25 meters. Senior Brion Stephens followed in third position in the same event. Sophomore Jayden Keys achieved a leap of 7.74 meters to place fourth in the long jump. Freshman Sidi Njie finished seventh in the 400-meter run. The 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Njie, Jonathan Simms, Xai Ricks, and Will Floyd, earned third place with a season-best time of 3:03.10. Senior Alon Rogow rounded out the notable performances with a third-place result in the pole vault.
A smaller group headed to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, participating only in the 3000-meter and 5000-meter runs. Junior Ryan Olree led the efforts there, placing 21st in the 5000 meters. Senior Will Aitken finished 37th in the 3000 meters.
These outings highlight the team's growing consistency and depth as the postseason nears. Personal and season-best marks across multiple disciplines suggest the Bulldogs are timing their peak well. Georgia now turns its attention to the Arkansas Qualifier, where they aim to build on this progress against top competition.
