The DKI Jakarta provincial government has officially suspended the odd-even system on various roads for the two Imlek 2026 holiday days, namely February 16 and 17. This decision was announced via the official Instagram account of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency @dishubdkijakarta on Monday, February 16, 2026. "In connection with the Imlek New Year 2577 Kongzili, the implementation of the Odd-Even system on various roads in Jakarta IS CANCELED," stated the announcement.
The suspension refers to the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Manpower, and Minister of PAN-RB Number 1497 of 2025, Number 2 of 2025, and Number 5 of 2025 on National Holidays and Joint Leave for 2026. Additionally, this aligns with DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019 Article 3 paragraph (3), which states that the odd-even system is not implemented on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by Presidential Decree.
Thus, during February 16-17, 2026, vehicles with odd or even numbered license plates can pass freely on roads typically affected by the restriction. Although the odd-even rule is suspended, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency still reminds the public to maintain orderly traffic during the Imlek holiday period. Residents are urged to prioritize safety and comply with traffic signs to ensure smooth travel during the celebration.
