Lillo's Tomato Pies opens second location in Gloucester City

A popular New Jersey restaurant specializing in cheesesteaks and Trenton-style tomato pies is set to open its second outlet this weekend. Lillo's Tomato Pies in Gloucester City will launch on Sunday, aligning with the local St. Patrick's Day Parade. The eatery plans a limited menu for the debut day.

Lillo's Tomato Pies, which has built a following at its original Hainesport location for regional specialties like cheesesteaks and Trenton-style tomato pies, is expanding to Gloucester City. The new site at 157 S Burlington St. has been in development for over a year, and the restaurant announced its opening on Friday.

The debut will occur on Sunday at noon, coinciding with the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade. To manage the initial rush, the menu will be limited to 200 tomato pies, 400 cheesesteaks, and fries, available while supplies last. The bar will serve drafts, shots, light mixed drinks, and canned beverages until 10 p.m.

In a social media post, Lillo's stated: "This Sunday, on Parade Day, our family officially becomes part of yours. There’s no better day, or better city to open these doors!"

This expansion marks a significant step for the family-run business, bringing its acclaimed offerings to a new community in Camden County. The original location in Hainesport has generated considerable local fanfare since its establishment.
