A new family-owned restaurant called Joe's Kitchen is set to open in the former Stuffed Bun location in Shelby Township, Michigan. The establishment will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with specialties including Joe's Salad and dishes like chicken piccata. Owners aim for a mid-to-late March opening, pending construction completion.
The Tinaj family, with over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, is launching Joe's Kitchen at 13448 24 Mile Road in Shelby Township. This site previously housed the casual restaurant Stuffed Bun, which closed last month. Co-owner Joe Tinaj, along with his parents, plans to serve large portions of meals including chicken marsala and the signature Joe's Salad.
"Joe’s Kitchen is something that has been building for years. Our family has always dreamed of opening another restaurant together after owning and operating restaurants for 20 years," Tinaj told What Now Detroit. The family has resided in the Shelby Township area for about 15 years and chose the location for its strong neighborhood presence.
"The 24 mile and Schoenherr corridor has strong neighborhood presence and visibility, and we saw an opportunity to bring fresh energy to a well known former restaurant space," Tinaj added. Situated at the corner of 24 Mile and Schoenherr roads on the north side of Shelby Township, the restaurant will join a plaza that includes Pure Green – Juice Bar Shelby Township and is near Coffee Beanery.
No exact opening date is set due to ongoing construction, but the team targets mid-to-late March. The owners are currently hiring for positions such as servers, dishwashers, and cooks. Further details and updates can be found on the restaurant's Facebook page.
The address is 13448 24 Mile Rd, Shelby Township, MI 48315.
