Rumi’s Kitchen reopens in Sandy Springs after delays

A popular Persian restaurant in Sandy Springs, Rumi’s Kitchen, is set to reopen this Friday following nearly a year of closure and multiple delays due to an extensive renovation. The reopening comes at the restaurant’s location on Roswell Road, where it has been missed by local residents. The menu will expand beyond traditional Persian dishes to include Middle Eastern options and modern twists, with weekend brunch also planned.

Rumi’s Kitchen, a beloved Persian eatery in metro Atlanta, closed nearly a year ago and has undergone an extensive renovation at its Sandy Springs location. The restaurant, originally planned to reopen several months earlier, faced multiple delays before finalizing preparations for its return this Friday. According to the restaurant’s news release, the space has a remainder lease of several years, designed by a firm that has worked on the site.

Located at 2116 Roswell Road in Atlanta, Rumi’s Kitchen serves under Chef Ali Gheissari, who oversees Middle Eastern Mesopotamian cuisine. The updated menu will extend beyond traditional Persian dishes, incorporating additional Middle Eastern selections and modern offerings alongside classics. Reservations are available through OpenTable, and the restaurant plans to introduce weekend brunch, following the model of its Colony Kitchen location starting March 17 at Rumi’s Square.

Sandy Springs residents have eagerly awaited the reopening, as the spot has been a local favorite. Contact the restaurant at 404-774-1001 or visit rumiskitchen.com for more details. This revival highlights ongoing developments in Atlanta’s dining scene, though specific details on the renovation timeline remain tied to the reported delays.
