World War Z update 1.73 applies hotfix for The Walking Dead content

Saber Interactive has released World War Z update 1.73/1.036 on February 12 across all platforms. This hotfix addresses several issues in the game's The Walking Dead crossover episode. It follows a previous patch from earlier in the week that included additional fixes and new content.

The update, version 1.036.000 on consoles, focuses on resolving problems introduced with the recent The Walking Dead collaboration in World War Z. Developers at Saber Interactive deployed this hotfix just two days after an earlier one, demonstrating ongoing efforts to stabilize the crossover features.

Key fixes in the February 12 patch include corrections to documents and document perks within The Walking Dead episode. It also addresses multiple common crash issues affecting gameplay. Specific adjustments were made to the Kamchatka flamethrower position for The Walking Dead characters in Chapter 1, titled “Dead of Winter.” The objective display at the garage in Chapter 3, “A Broken Peace,” has been repaired. Localization for the “Dead Pirate” mutator has been fixed in English, and the tank sound in the intro to Chapter 1, “The Last Breakout,” has been removed.

The prior hotfix from earlier that week tackled various gameplay, sound, and visual bugs in The Walking Dead episode. It removed the “Mass Contamination” mutator from private lobbies for that content and fixed instances where playable characters became stuck after respawning in co-op mode.

Additionally, that earlier patch introduced the Lunar New Year Weapon Skin Pack, which is now available for purchase by players.

These updates highlight Saber Interactive's commitment to refining the cooperative zombie shooter, particularly its integration with The Walking Dead elements, ensuring a smoother experience for users on all platforms.
