Madrid court warns of delays in trial of Ayuso's partner due to overload

The Criminal Court number 19 in Madrid has admitted it is overloaded and will set the oral trial date for Alberto González Amador considering its schedule and circumstances.

In a document sent to the parties last month, the court clerk states that the trial date will be set “considering the overload and circumstances weighing on this Court and when scheduling reasons allow”.

Magistrate María Lourdes Platero Parada has resolved preliminary issues in a ruling last month. She admitted an expert report from a tax inspector on leave as evidence, but rejected witness statements proposed by the defense to prove the validity of an invoice for 922,585 euros.

The case for alleged tax fraud and document falsification was sent to the court in April after two years of investigation. The Prosecutor's Office and the State Attorney's Office request three years and nine months in prison for González Amador.

A separate investigation into an alleged bribe to a Quirónsalud executive continues in parallel.
