Andino shopping center opens Michael Kors store with $50 billion investment

The Andino shopping center in Bogotá announced the opening of a new Michael Kors store in Lifestyle format, as part of an investment plan nearing $50 billion. This initiative aims to strengthen the portfolio of international brands and renew the shopping experience for customers. The New York-based brand, founded in 1981, offers products like clothing, bags, and accessories in a relaxed luxury space.

The Andino shopping center, a key reference for luxury commerce in Colombia since its opening three decades ago, has added a Michael Kors boutique as part of its expansion strategy. This opening is included in an investment plan of around $50 billion, aimed at enhancing the presence of global brands and improving shopping spaces with innovative designs and services aligned to international standards.

The store features an exclusive selection of the brand's items, including clothing, bags, ready-to-wear pieces, leather goods, shoes, watches, fragrances, and sunglasses. Its interior design follows Michael Kors's global concept, with a warm and luminous environment that blends sophistication and comfort to highlight the collections.

María Patricia Andrade Sterling, the center's general manager, stated: “This opening reflects our commitment to innovation and curating leading brands. We want visitors to experience fashion as something that inspires and transforms the city.” She added that “the Michael Kors opening not only expands our global brands offer but also consolidates the luxury corridor we are building in this sector of the shopping center. Our goal is to continue positioning Andino as the destination where the world's most relevant brands converge with a sophisticated experience for our visitors”.

Currently, Andino hosts brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Rolex, Montblanc, TAG Heuer, Omega, Tiffany & Co., Longchamp, Tory Burch, Hugo Boss, and Swarovski. In the coming months, arrivals like Polo Ralph Lauren are expected, broadening the offerings in the complex. This development fits into the renewal of physical retail, where shopping centers compete with e-commerce through immersive experiences and specialized curation.

Meanwhile, other luxury brands are expanding in Colombia; for instance, Tous plans to open five additional stores in 2026, adding to the 28 already operating in the country.
