Roh Tae-moon, co-CEO and head of Samsung’s Device Experience Division, told reporters that foldables have reached technological and commercial maturity. He added that more companies entering the market shows the category is becoming mainstream.

In Korea the Galaxy Z Fold 8 256GB model starts at 2.28 million won, the Z Fold 8 Ultra at 2.58 million won and the Z Flip 8 at 1.68 million won. Prices in the United States and Europe are 20 to 48 percent higher. The devices will roll out globally starting August 7, with Korean preorders running from July 28 to August 3.
