In the U19 World Cup final, India's Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 175 runs off 80 balls against England, leading his team to a sixth title win. He dedicated the Player of the Final award to the team's support staff during the presentation. The 14-year-old also earned Player of the Tournament honors.
India's young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a stunning performance in the Under-19 World Cup final against England. On February 7, 2026, Vaibhav scored 175 runs off 80 balls, including 15 sixes and 15 fours, marking the highest individual score by any batsman in an ICC tournament final. Batting first, India posted a massive 411 for 9, while England collapsed to 311 all out, handing India a 100-run victory.
Throughout the tournament, Vaibhav amassed 439 runs and took 1 wicket, earning him the Player of the Tournament award. He became the first player to win both Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament in the event. Vaibhav also notched the fastest 150 in Under-19 cricket, reaching it in 71 balls.
During the presentation ceremony, an emotional Vaibhav said, "I cannot express my emotions in words. For the last 7-8 months, we all have worked hard. The support staff has always been with us, taking complete care of our fitness and mental state. This award is dedicated to them." He added that the eight-to-nine months of preparation and team-staff coordination laid the foundation for this success.
England's Caleb Faulkner fought with 115 runs off 67 balls, but his team fell short of the target. Vaibhav's father expressed hope that his son would soon earn a senior India call-up following this heroics. This marks India's record sixth U19 World Cup title.
