The permanent commission of the General Council of the Judiciary failed to reach an agreement on Tuesday and postponed its decision on five investigations against Judge Juan Carlos Peinado.
The permanent commission of the CGPJ met on Tuesday to assess the proposals of the disciplinary action promoter, Ricardo Conde, who recommended archiving the five open proceedings against Peinado. The deliberations ended without agreement and will continue in the coming days.
Conservative members supported archiving the cases while progressive members defended continuing the investigations. President Isabel Perelló and the seven commission members will resume the debate on upcoming dates.
The complaints include Peinado’s statements suggesting possible assistance from police escorts to Begoña Gómez to leave Spain, the judge’s conduct during the interrogation of Minister Félix Bolaños at La Moncloa, and other reports filed by Más Madrid and a private individual.
