Noah Lyles to headline 2026 USATF Indoor Championships

Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles will compete in the 60m at the 2026 USATF Indoor Championships on March 1 in Staten Island, New York. The event features top U.S. track athletes and will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock starting at 1 p.m. ET. Winners can qualify for the World Indoor Championships in Poland later in March.

The 2026 USA Track & Field (USATF) Indoor Championships take place on Sunday, March 1, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York. This national event brings together elite athletes, including reigning Olympic 100m gold medalist Noah Lyles, who is aiming for his second 60m national indoor title. Lyles, a three-time Olympic medalist and eight-time world champion, enters his first 60m race of the indoor season. In 2025, he secured his fourth consecutive 200m world title and fifth Diamond League 200m title.

The men's 1500m field includes Cole Hocker, the reigning Olympic 1500m gold medalist, who recently set a U.S. indoor mile record of 3:45.94. Paris Olympic 1500m bronze medalist Yared Nuguse is also competing. On the women's side, Elle St. Pierre, the 2024 World Indoor 3000m champion and two-time Olympian, leads after breaking the U.S. indoor 1500m record with a time of 3:59.33 less than three weeks ago. Nikki Hiltz, who has won the U.S. indoor 1500m title for the past three years, will join her.

Other notable participants include 17-year-old Cooper Lutkenhaus, holder of the U18 800m world record; Ajee Wilson, the 2022 world indoor 800m champion; and Joe Kovacs, a three-time Olympic shot put silver medalist.

The top two finishers in each event, provided they meet World Athletics entry standards or rankings, will represent the United States at the 2026 World Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland, from March 20-22.

NBC Sports will cover the event with play-by-play announcer Paul Swangard, analysts Ato Boldon (four-time Olympic medalist), Kara Goucher (two-time Olympian), and Trey Hardee (2012 Olympic decathlon silver medalist), and reporter Lewis Johnson.
