Tropical Smoothie Cafe to open at Verdae Village in Greenville

A new Tropical Smoothie Cafe will open in late spring 2026 at Verdae Village in Greenville, South Carolina. The 2,732-square-foot location at 101 Verdae Blvd. will be owned and operated by local franchisees Bill Ruby and Greg Powell. The cafe aims to provide convenient and healthy dining options in the growing area.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe, known for its blended-to-order fruit smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, and salads, is set to expand in the Upstate region with a new outlet at Verdae Village. The announcement came from Aston, a Charlotte-based company that manages retail centers across the Carolinas, on February 25, 2026.

The site at 101 Verdae Blvd. will add to Verdae Village's mix of tenants, which includes anchors like Food Lion and Lowe's Outlet. Other retailers there are Office Depot, Planet Fitness, LensCrafters, Massage Envy, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Greenfield’s Bagels & Deli, along with restaurants such as Olive Garden, Burger King, and Arby’s.

Barnes Connell, managing director of Aston, highlighted the area's growth: "The Verdae area continues to see meaningful momentum, and we’re focused on bringing in tenants that reflect how people live, work and prioritize convenience and wellness. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a strong fit for Verdae Village, and we’re pleased to welcome Bill, Greg, and their team to the center."

Franchisees Bill Ruby and Greg Powell, who launched their first Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the Upstate in 2017, expressed enthusiasm for the project. Ruby stated: "We’re excited to bring Tropical Smoothie Cafe to Verdae Village and continue expanding our presence in the Upstate. This area is experiencing meaningful growth, and we see a real demand for convenient, better-for-you dining options. We’re looking forward to becoming part of the daily routine for residents, professionals and families in the Verdae community."

The opening is scheduled for late spring 2026, responding to the demand for healthy and accessible meals in the expanding Verdae neighborhood.
