The South Carolina Gamecocks track and field team wrapped up their home season with strong performances at the USC Invite on February 21, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina. Five athletes achieved top 10 marks in program history, including personal bests in multiple events. The meet highlighted senior contributions and set the stage for upcoming championships.
Hosted at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Indoor Track & Field Facility, the USC Invite featured notable results across sprints, distance races, and field events. Senior Eline Mast excelled in her final home meet, winning the women's mile in 4:47.08 to rank seventh in program history and the 800 meters in a personal-best 2:09.13, placing 10th all-time.
In the women's 3000 meters, Hattie Jennings claimed victory with a personal best of 9:37.68, earning the 10th-fastest time in school records, followed by Allie Matasich in second at 9:40.47—also a personal best—and Ella Zeigler in third at 9:58.33, securing a 1-2-3 finish for the Gamecocks.
Sprinter Hailey Duncan set personal bests in the 60 meters, finishing third in the final with 7.69, and in the 200 meters with 24.38. Akala Garrett tied her personal best in the 60-meter hurdles, placing second in 8.11 as the top collegian. Sophomore Jathiyah Muhammad won the women's pole vault at 4.00 meters, her fourth victory of the season.
On the men's side, Jasauna Dennis won the 400 meters in a season-best 46.07, with Devan Crumpton third at a personal-best 46.40. Knox Eaton and Ricky Circelli took first and second in the 800 meters with personal bests of 1:49.18 and 1:49.40, ranking seventh and eighth in program history, respectively. Freshman Khaliq Muhammad cleared 5.32 meters to win the pole vault. The men's distance medley relay team finished second in 9:36.71, the third-fastest time in school records.
Separately, the women's distance medley relay at the ASICS Last Chance Invitational in Winston-Salem set a program record of 10:48.42, ranking 11th nationally and positioning them for the NCAA Indoor Championships. The Gamecocks next compete at the SEC Indoor Championships on February 27-28 in College Station, Texas.
