Dine Brands Global has launched its first dual-branded Applebee's and IHOP restaurant in the United States at 4825 Marburg Ave. in Cincinnati's Oakley neighborhood. The new location combines breakfast favorites like pancakes with casual dining staples such as chicken wings, marking a significant expansion for the parent company of both chains.
The joint restaurant, advertised with a 'coming soon' sign outside the former Oakley IHOP, which is listed as temporarily closed on Google Business Profile, offers menus from both brands available any time of day. Items include pancakes, boneless wings, burgers, appetizers, and specialty cocktails like espresso martinis or Irish coffees. Exclusive dishes such as a buffalo chicken omelette and an ultimate breakfast burger add unique appeal.
Dine Brands first introduced Applebee's | IHOP concepts internationally, operating 13 locations in Canada, Mexico, Honduras, and the Middle East by September 2024. The U.S. debut occurred in February 2025 in Seguin, Texas, near San Antonio. The Cincinnati site features two distinct dining areas—one matching Applebee's ambiance and the other IHOP's—along with shared host stands, bathrooms, back-of-house operations, and a single kitchen.
The Enquirer contacted Dine Brands for comment but is awaiting a response. Following the Texas opening, the company announced plans to open 14 additional dual-branded U.S. locations through 2026, transforming existing single-brand sites and building new ones. This hybrid model aims to provide versatile dining options, blending breakfast and casual fare to attract diverse customers throughout the day.
