At the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Ruby Krasnow of the University of Maine secured first place in the 5000m run with a time of 16:40.09. The Maine women's team placed 11th overall with 19 points across various events.
The University of Maine Black Bears women's track and field team competed at the IC4A Championships held on February 7 and 8 in Boston, Massachusetts. They accumulated 19 points to finish in 11th position among the participants.
Key performances highlighted the meet for Maine. In the 5000m run, Ruby Krasnow dominated to take first place, clocking 16:40.09. Lila Garbett competed in the 3000m run, finishing 12th with a time of 10:05.02.
The 4x800m relay team, consisting of Abby Rodriquenz, Toni Vaillancourt, Kara Tschida, and Meredith Walters, earned sixth place with a combined time of 9:12.39. In field events, Cheyenne Figueroa threw 17.21 meters to secure third in the weight throw.
These results showcase individual strengths within the team as they prepare for upcoming competitions. The Black Bears are scheduled to return to action on February 20 and 21 at the America East Indoor Track and Field Championships.
