Democratic Party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono plans a political safari and river preservation movement as part of the party's 25th anniversary celebrations.
Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono made the remarks when met at Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/7/2026). He will visit several political figures through the annual Silaturahmi 360 program to build communication with party leaders at the central and regional levels.
"Demokrat ingin bersahabat dengan semuanya. Politik adalah politik. Kompetisi harus berakhir ketika kita ingin sama-sama memajukan negeri ini," AHY said. He added that each party has its own interests but shares the goal of advancing Indonesia.
As part of the same celebrations, the Democratic Party launched the Ayo Muliakan Sungai movement to clean rivers in various regions. AHY noted that Indonesia has more than 5,500 main rivers and more than 65,000 tributaries.
The party will also launch the Langit Biru Indonesia Asri movement on Friday (10/7/2026), focused on cleaning beaches and slum areas by involving the wider community including schoolchildren.
