Apple is expected to introduce major upgrades to its Siri virtual assistant during the Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday. A new Bloomberg report indicates the overhaul will include a dedicated app and advanced features across multiple platforms.
The updates will feature a Siri app available on iOS, iPadOS and macOS. Siri will gain the ability to handle multiple requests at once, support more conversational responses and integrate services beyond ChatGPT. A revamped interface is also planned. Apple will introduce its first in-house web search product through Siri to compete with Perplexity AI Inc., a startup the company once considered acquiring. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who authored the report, noted that the changes will allow Siri to answer questions using an internal engine. This approach will deliver summaries, bulleted lists and rich images instead of routing users to external services like Google or ChatGPT. Alongside the Siri improvements, Apple is set to unveil new AI features and updated operating systems including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27.
