Apple has released the first public betas of its 2027 software updates, including iOS 27. The update introduces a revamped Siri AI assistant to users for the first time.
The public betas for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate and watchOS 27 became available on July 13. Users can install them directly on compatible devices after enrolling in the Apple Beta Software Program.
The headliner is the new Siri AI, which supports natural conversations, follow-up questions, screen content analysis and multi-step app actions. It works only in English initially and is not available in the EU.
Performance improvements include apps launching up to 30 percent faster, Photos app loading up to 70 percent quicker and AirDrop transfers up to 80 percent faster. Additional features cover Safari tab grouping, automatic password updates and enhanced Photos editing tools.
Siri AI also extends to watchOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate, with device-specific additions like menopause tracking support and improved design elements.
