Embark Studios released the Riven Tides update for Arc Raiders on April 28, introducing a new coastal map, a floating Arc Turbine enemy, and several balancing changes. The update features new items, events, and map conditions to refresh gameplay in the extraction shooter. Players are already debating the weapon economy adjustments.
Embark Studios launched the Riven Tides update for Arc Raiders on April 28, marking the extraction shooter's biggest content drop yet. Set on the western coast of the Rust Belt, the new map includes a fading resort called Panorama Azzurro, towering dockyards, tennis courts, and lavish ballrooms now in ruins. A hulking new enemy, the Arc Turbine, floats in the sky and unleashes a 'totally unique fight' when raiders approach, according to the developers. Players can explore a new Beachcombing map condition using the Dockmaster’s Detector to uncover buried treasure, though the best spots are exposed in the open. The update adds the five-stage Avian Alarm raider project, a new expedition window, and the Last Resort event running through May 25, where teams hunt miniature ship models. New items include the Epic Gadget Powered Descender and Uncommon Throwable Crash Mat to reduce fall damage, plus the Common Deployable White Flag and Common Gadget Dockmaster’s Detector. Patch notes detail augment rebalancing, particularly buffing the underperforming Combat Mk. 3 (Flanking) Augment. Developers addressed the weapon economy, stating, “The weapon economy has increasingly started looking more and more unbalanced, where players engaging in heavy PVP have to make a lot of difficult decisions around their weapons while the most friendly players have ended up in a chronic state of weapon accumulation.” Upgrades will be more generous, but weapons are now rarer on map outskirts and break more easily to challenge all playstyles. PS5 Pro players gain improved PSSR support, reducing ghosting for stabler image quality. Fans are already debating the weapon changes fiercely.
