Former Big Brother Naija housemate Ikechukwu “Cross” Okonkwo married Chinonso Onyebuchi in a white wedding ceremony in Abuja on Saturday. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar attended as a high-profile guest, calling Cross his godson. The event drew many fellow BBNaija stars.
Abuja hosted the white wedding of Ikechukwu “Cross” Okonkwo, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, and Chinonso Onyebuchi on Saturday. The ceremony marked the final stage of their marriage journey, following a traditional wedding in January and a civil ceremony at the Ikoyi registry in February.
Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, attended the event shortly after arriving from Ibadan following the National Opposition Summit. He posted on X: “Yesterday, upon my arrival from Ibadan after the National Opposition Summit, I proceeded directly to the wedding of my godson, Cross Okonkwo @crossdabossike, and Chinonso Okonkwo, here in Abuja. The occasion provided yet another opportunity to reflect the strong bond between our families. I wish the couple a very happy and fulfilling married life.”
The wedding reunited members of the BBNaija community, with attendees including Neo Akpofure, Saga, Maria Benjamin, Liquorose, Erica Nlewedim, Sheggz, Mercy Eke, and Ilebaye Odinaya.
Cross gained fame in the 2021 “Shine Ya Eye” season of Big Brother Naija and returned for the 2023 “All Stars” edition, finishing as fifth runner-up.
