Atiku Abubakar, exvicepresidente, asistió al evento poco después de llegar de Ibadán tras la Cumbre Nacional de la Oposición. Publicó en X: “Ayer, tras mi llegada desde Ibadán después de la Cumbre Nacional de la Oposición, me dirigí directamente a la boda de mi ahijado, Cross Okonkwo @crossdabossike, y Chinonso Okonkwo, aquí en Abuya. La ocasión brindó otra oportunidad para reflejar el fuerte vínculo entre nuestras familias. Le deseo a la pareja una vida matrimonial muy feliz y plena”.

La boda reunió a miembros de la comunidad de BBNaija, con asistentes como Neo Akpofure, Saga, Maria Benjamin, Liquorose, Erica Nlewedim, Sheggz, Mercy Eke e Ilebaye Odinaya.

Cross ganó fama en la temporada 2021 “Shine Ya Eye” de Big Brother Naija y regresó para la edición “All Stars” de 2023, donde terminó como quinto finalista.
