State Civil Guard officers dismantled an illegal surveillance camera network in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, allegedly used by criminal groups to monitor police movements. The operation removed 13 cameras from poles and building facades in several neighborhoods. No arrests were reported, but investigations continue.

In a recent operation, the State Civil Guard (GCE) of San Luis Potosí dismantled an illegal surveillance camera network in Ciudad Valles. The cameras, placed on poles and building facades in the Norte Residencial, Montecillos, and city center neighborhoods, are believed to have been used to alert criminal organization members about police presence.

The equipment, consisting of 13 cameras, was seized and turned over to the State General Prosecutor's Office (FGE) for corresponding investigations. According to the official report, the cameras operated without authorization and were part of a system to monitor law enforcement. Despite the seizure, no individuals were detained during the action.

The Prosecutor's Office will continue investigations to identify who installed and operated the system. The state Security Secretariat emphasized that it will maintain similar operations in the region to detect more such devices. It also reiterated the call to citizens to anonymously report any suspicious installations linked to organized crime.

This dismantling highlights authorities' efforts to counter surveillance tactics used by organized crime in the area.
