BBVA announced an investment exceeding 300 billion pesos in artificial intelligence and technological capabilities in Colombia, as part of its 30 years of operations in the country.
The BBVA Group has invested nearly 10 trillion pesos in Colombia since 1996, combining capital and reinvested profits. This amount makes it the largest foreign investor in the financial sector and one of the top ten across all sectors.
These investments have financed projects for families and Colombian companies totaling more than 700 trillion pesos, equivalent to around four million homes. BBVA and Bancamía maintain offices in all 32 departments of the country.
In the context of these three decades, the entity revealed its new commitment to artificial intelligence to put its global knowledge at the service of national development. The announcement highlights sustained confidence in Colombian institutions and talent.
