Bob Vylan said Friday that the rap duo will take legal action against the BBC for defamation. The announcement follows the group's 2025 Glastonbury performance and the broadcaster's response to it.
Bob Vylan stated on social media that the BBC placed inaccurate labels on the duo after their set. The group performed chants of "Free, free Palestine" and "Death, death to the IDF" on the West Holts Stage.
Festival organizers described the comments as appalling. The BBC, which broadcast the performance live, later said the set would not be available on demand.
Bob Vylan accused the BBC of attempting to silence opposition to events in Palestine and of editing or removing related content. The duo said it takes pleasure in pursuing the case in court.
In the aftermath, the duo's U.S. visas were revoked and some festival appearances were canceled. U.K. police considered but ultimately dropped an investigation into the performance.
