Heavy rains that battered the province of Málaga from Saturday until Sunday dawn have left a tragic toll in Alhaurín el Grande. Civil Guard sources confirmed that a lifeless body was found in the search area for two men, aged 53 and 54, local residents reported missing. Their van was located overturned in the bed of the Fahala River, with significant damage, prompting families to file a report Sunday morning amid the adverse weather conditions.
The Civil Guard maintains an active search device in the area for the second missing person. Meanwhile, in Granada province, a young man from Zújar was swept away by the current of the Cañada Stream in Íllora while attempting to cross it on a motorcycle with a friend on the GR-3409 road. His companion escaped and reported the disappearance. Security Citizen units, the Civil Guard's Mountain Rescue Group, the Air Unit, and the Pegasus Team were deployed to the site, locating the motorcycle in the mid-afternoon.
The Civil Guard stresses the importance of taking extreme precautions during intense rain episodes, warning against crossing watercourses, even if they appear passable, due to the risk of sudden flow increases.
