Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski delivered a 105.5 mph fastball during a win over the Chicago Cubs on June 26. The pitch broke his own mark for the fastest by a starter in the pitch-tracking era.
Misiorowski held the Cubs to one run over six innings in the 6-2 victory. In the first inning he threw the record-setting pitch to Pete Crow-Armstrong, who fouled it off.
After the game Misiorowski said he slipped a little on the delivery. He added that he believes he has more speed in reserve.
The right-hander improved to 9-3 with a 1.45 ERA. He leads the majors with 146 strikeouts in 99 innings and tops all pitchers with 4.2 WAR.
The win moved the Brewers to 50-29, half a game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best record in baseball.
