Brewers slow Misiorowski return after arm fatigue

The Milwaukee Brewers are managing Jacob Misiorowski's workload carefully following his scratch from Sunday's start due to arm fatigue.

The team plans to take a cautious approach with the right-hander. Misiorowski is expected to resume throwing on Tuesday but will not start in the first series after the All-Star break against the Marlins at American Family Field.

Milwaukee has not yet announced its probable starters for that series. The 24-year-old All-Star has thrown 111 innings this season and last pitched on July 7, when he allowed three runs over seven innings against the Cardinals.

Misiorowski leads the majors with a 1.62 ERA and 167 strikeouts. His velocity has added to workload concerns, as he has thrown 670 pitches at 100 mph or faster this year.

The Brewers hold a 59-37 record and lead the National League Central. Additional injuries to Brandon Woodruff and Kyle Harrison have increased Misiorowski's importance to the rotation.
