Free solo climbers Ivan Kuznetsov and Angelina Nikolau scaled the Empire State Building spire earlier today and got engaged 1,454 feet above New York City.
The pair, known for their Netflix documentary Sky Walkers: A Love Story, climbed approximately 120 feet to the spire. Kuznetsov proposed during the ascent, and Nikolau accepted.
Nikolau shared an Instagram photo of the oval engagement ring, highlighting her pastel-chrome manicure with a cross design and almond-shaped tips. The image drew attention for the unusual choice of long nails during such a climb.
Authorities arrested the climbers shortly after the proposal and photo were posted online.
