CDU, CSU and SPD have agreed on support for reserve capacities. This clears the path for a Bundestag vote next week.
CDU, CSU and SPD have reached an agreement on funding for reserve capacities under the Strom-Versorgungssicherheits- und Kapazitätengesetz. Several people involved in the negotiations confirmed this to Handelsblatt.
The changes particularly benefit smaller power plant operators and the battery storage industry. The draft bill from the Federal Ministry of Economics has been in the parliamentary process since early June.
The goal of the law is to create incentives for plants that supply electricity when generation from renewable sources is insufficient. Such periods are referred to as Dunkelflauten.
