Cyan Worlds has released a teaser trailer for a cancelled Myst sequel prototype called Project Anglerfish. The studio built the project over a year ago but it did not advance beyond the prototype stage.
Cyan Worlds posted details about the effort on its site. The team spent about four months developing the prototype for publisher review before the project was halted for various reasons.
The teaser shows signature Myst vistas, architecture and a character requesting a special book. It was built using Unreal Engine and features strong character animations.
Project Anglerfish would have been the first new Myst entry since Myst V in 2005. The studio noted it remains proud of the work and promised more experiences in the Myst universe ahead.
