OtherSide Entertainment has cancelled its upcoming game codenamed Argos and let go of 17 staff members. The move follows the release of the studio's previous title last month.
OtherSide Entertainment announced the cancellation of the project codenamed Argos and the resulting layoffs in a statement to Game Developer. The 17 team members departed effective end of May.
A company spokesperson said the current games industry climate made the project unviable for now. The firm added that the staff members affected are highly recommended for future roles.
Argos was first revealed in 2022 as an immersive sim led by Warren Spector. It was positioned as his return to the genre he helped create.
The layoffs come one month after the release of Thick of Thieves, a co-op stealth game that received middling reviews and low player counts.
