Danganronpa 2x2 has been delayed to early 2027.
In a statement posted to Spike Chunsoft's website, producer Shohei Sakakibara said that while "development has been progressing toward a 2026 release", "we have decided to move the launch to early 2027". The team said it would "share a more specific release date at a later time".
"We are continuing to work to bring you the best possible experience. We sincerely appreciate your patience as development continues, and we look forward to sharing further updates with you soon," Sakakibara concluded.
The game features two modes from the start. Original mode retells the story from the 2012 release Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair with enhanced visuals. Slayhem mode offers a new scenario with a completely different storyline. The World Map has also been updated to a 3D version for better navigation across the island.
