Congress has named Ghanshyam Singh as its official candidate for the Datia Assembly bypoll in Madhya Pradesh. Narottam Mishra met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav after receiving an offer from Shiv Sena (UBT).
Congress has fielded 72-year-old Ghanshyam Singh as its candidate for the Datia seat. Singh belongs to the Datia royal family and has served as an MLA three times.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Madhya Pradesh Chief Sunil Sharma extended an offer to Narottam Mishra. If accepted, Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray would campaign for him.
The bypoll follows the disqualification of former Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti. Polling is scheduled for 30 July and counting for 3 August.
Narottam Mishra reached the Chief Minister's residence in Bhopal late at night and met Mohan Yadav.
