Dead or Alive 6 Last Round draws Steam criticism

Koei Tecmo released Dead or Alive 6 Last Round on Steam on June 25. The $40 re-release of the 2019 fighting game has received Mostly Negative reviews due to unfixed bugs and DLC issues.

The new version includes five extra characters along with graphical improvements and a photo mode. It lacks rollback netcode despite that feature becoming standard for fighting games in 2026.

Players must repurchase some previously owned content. Two characters from the King of Fighters franchise, Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond, cannot transfer due to licensing issues with SNK. All DLC character prices have risen from $8 to $11.

Certain costumes from the original game are unavailable in the re-release. Owners can buy them in the 2019 version and transfer them, but Koei Tecmo delisted those versions on June 11.

The Steam page lists 440 DLC items. Several are already included with the full game or available only in the free Core Fighters edition.
