Mitchell Starc’s four wickets helped Delhi Capitals chase down 194 to beat Rajasthan Royals by five wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rajasthan Royals reached 193 for 8 after a strong start powered by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 46 and half-centuries from Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel. Starc then took three wickets in four balls during the death overs to restrict the scoring.
KL Rahul scored 56 and Abishek Porel made 51 as the openers put on 105 runs. Axar Patel finished unbeaten on 34 to guide the chase home with four balls remaining.
Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag said after the match that the team should not be in contention for the playoffs if it continued to make sloppy mistakes in the field. Capitals coach Hemang Badani praised Starc’s work ethic and preparation.
