The Temuco Guarantee Court extended the detention of the Labranza femicide suspect until Monday, June 29. Prosecutors await the autopsy report to formalize charges.
Assistant prosecutor Jorge Mandiola said the extension was decided Saturday during the detention hearing due to the lack of the autopsy protocol. The suspect allegedly entered the Labranza home through a window on Friday morning, triggering an alarm that alerted Carabineros.
Officers entered after receiving no response and confronted the man, who shouted from a bedroom that he had a firearm. He later exited the property and was detained. A prior complaint had led to restraining orders that were allegedly violated.
The National Service for Women and Gender Equity filed an official complaint and will process a pension for the victim's two minor children. Minister Judith Marín condemned the crime and noted that violence against women concerns the entire society.
