A mother and her daughter were found dead in Cosoleacaque, Veracruz, in a case authorities are investigating as feminicide. The bodies showed gunshot wounds and signs of violence.
Ana Lilia González Mateos, 42, and her daughter Yalina Cristal Lezama González, 25, were identified as the victims. Both were merchants at the local municipal market.
The bodies were thrown from a moving gray Toyota truck on Emiliano Zapata street. Neighbors alerted police after seeing the vehicle speed away.
State police, National Guard officers and ministerial personnel responded to the scene. The case is being investigated under the feminicide protocol, though no arrests have been reported.
