Pole vaulter Armand Duplantis aims to break the world record at 6.32 meters during Sunday's Bauhausgalan in Stockholm. He wants to relive the feeling of setting a record in front of the home crowd.
Armand Duplantis, known as Mondo, is the favorite in the pole vault at the Diamond League meet at Stockholm Stadium. He last competed in China in May where he won but missed the record after three attempts. Duplantis uses a new longer approach of 22 steps that he tested at the Mondo Classic in Uppsala on March 12, 2026. There he set his latest world record at 6.31 meters. – It is always on my mind. I need to feel good during the day and I am in good shape, Duplantis says. He plans at least one attempt at 6.32 meters if the weather allows. The competition will be the third with the new approach. Duplantis has 14 world records since 2020 according to the list of his achievements.
