The Rock's kids were initially stunned by his long-haired Maui transformation for the live-action Moana. Dwayne Johnson shared the family's honest first impressions during a recent chat.
Dwayne Johnson opened up about his daughters' surprise at seeing him as Maui. "The first time they saw me as Maui, they were like, 'Oh,'" he told E! News. "It was jarring for them for maybe 10 minutes. Just to see me with hair, and I get it, it's a lot of hair."
The 54-year-old added that his children Simone, Jasmine and Tiana ultimately loved the look but were keener to meet co-star Catherine Laga'aia on set. The live-action film is slated for release on 10 July.
Johnson also noted extra challenges with the 40-pound prosthetics, bodysuit and wig compared to voicing the character in the animated films. "There's literally five, six people, all [with] fans, opening me up, pulling my hair back," he said.
